Flowering (beginning of blooming)・・・In principle, the first tree upstream from Shiokura Bridge on the opposite bank of the Matsukawa Riverside Cafe (left bank side) is the reference tree, and it is in bloom the day after five or more flowers open.

《In bloom during this time》

The end (The cherry blossoms have fallen)・・・In principle, the sixth tree upstream from Shiokura Bridge on the right bank side (in line with Matsukawa Riverside Cafe) is used as the reference tree, and the period during blooming ends the day after approximately 80% or more of the flowers have fallen.

The blooming and fall of trees on the left bank (north side) and the right bank (south side) of the Matsukawa River tend to shift by 2 to 3 days due to the difference in sunlight. For this reason, the trees on the left bank side (north side), which receive more sunlight and bloom earlier, shall be used as reference trees for blooming, while the trees on the right bank side (south side), which receive less sunlight and bloom and fall later, shall be used as reference trees to determine the period during blooming.

*The announcement of “in bloom” will be made at ticket offices and through SNS such as “operation information” on the official X feed (Sorry, Japanese only!) on the day before the surcharge is applied.
