Ms. Hatsume Sato was known as the Mother Teresa of Japan.
She hosted a healing retreat in Aomori, welcoming those in distress with warm, home-cooked meals. She was featured in the news as well as documentary programs.
Ms. Kyoko Asano in Toyama City, whose family had a very close relationship with Ms. Hatsume, has shared her rice ball recipe and the spirit behind it with us.
We use the highest quality rice, which is proudly made in Toyama, a rice-producing region. The rice is from Snow White Farm (head: Mr. Sousaku Sakaguchi) in Tateyama Town, which practices natural farming in a sustainable way without any pesticides or fertilizers.
The items you touch and the ingredients you eat are carefully selected by Kyoko, including the wooden cutting boards and the homemade aged pickled plums with natural salt Kyoko made.
The process of cooking and dishing them will immerse you, and the riverside view will relax you during the session.
